Gatwick Diamond Business is a not-for-profit organisation run and owned by members to support the success of local businesses through its membership, networking, knowledge sharing and partnerships. Their networking events give opportunities for the whole ‘Diamond area’ from Surrey to Chichester to meet, share ideas, make new contacts and reinforce existing relationships.

On a gloriously sunny day, Thursday 10th August it was the Networking Ease event at Wilton Park in Steyning, with over 40 people in attendance and the day was a great success.

Wilton Park takes its name from the Wilton Park Estate in Buckinghamshire, which was used as a Prisoner of War camp and re-education centre during World War II. It was redefined with the arrival of Wiston House in 1951 which is now an executive agency of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). They hold a significance in global and national policy development, convening some of the greatest thinkers and bringing together diverse perspectives to help resolve critical global challenges.

Wiston House hosts delegates every week throughout the year, undertaking important and sometimes top-secret meetings which can run long into the night and is dedicated to helping solve some of the world’s most difficult challenges. It plays a vital role in supporting cooperation and dialogue.

With such a prestigious location it was the perfect opportunity for local businesses to come together, network, share ideas and make connections.

The afternoon started with networking over tea in one of the beautiful libraries where we then had the opportunity to explore the orangery and wonderful gardens, following this was the delicious 3-course lunch in the main hall. The networking format put together by Gatwick Diamond meant that each attendee was able to move around the tables following each course to introduce themselves and their businesses which enabled us to connect with more people in the room which was fun!

There is always such a diverse crowd of people and industries from Xpress Creative Print, Acumen Law, Blackmanterry Accountants, Branding Box, Flexibility Matters, Fusion Business Catalyst, Longwood Business Support, MR Printers, Ally Whitlock Photography, The Marketing Alliance and Tottington Manor Hotel to name but a few, sorry to those I missed!

So to sum up, it was a refreshing networking day in a beautiful setting steeped In history where I enjoyed making lots of new contacts as well as reaffirming already good partnerships with local businesses in the Gatwick Diamond membership. Not a bad day out of the office, spreading the good work ITDS Managed are currently doing.
